This empirical study investigates the study habits of Grade 9 students from two prominent educational boards in Odisha: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The research aims to compare study habits across these boards, considering factors such as intelligence levels, socio-economic status (SES), and gender. A sample of 810 students (390 from BSE and 420 from CBSE) was selected using a simple random sampling technique from Bhadrak and Balasore districts. The study utilized the Study Habit Inventory and the General Mental Ability Test to assess students’ study habits and cognitive abilities. Data analysis revealed significant differences in study habits between BSE and CBSE students, with CBSE students demonstrating better study habits. Additionally, students with higher intelligence levels and those from higher SES backgrounds exhibited significantly better study habits. However, no significant gender differences in study habits were found. These findings suggest that educational frameworks, intelligence levels, and socio-economic backgrounds significantly influence study habits. The study highlights the need for targeted interventions to support students from lower SES backgrounds and those with lower intelligence levels. The results also underscore the importance of educational reforms to standardize study practices across different boards, aiming to improve student outcomes.

Regional imbalance is the disparity in economic and social development of two regions. One region/city/area is stronger than another region/city/area. Regions develop when investments are made to set up industries, service sectors, educational institutions, health care facilities etc. In India after liberalization, the role of private sector has increased in investment decisions. Naturally, the investments will flow in regions which are favorable to return maximum return on investments. This rule is out the possibility of investments in poorly connected and geographically separated regions (for example mountains), and regions with hostile political environment. The maximum share in gained by the regions which have adequate physical and social infrastructure and a conductive environment. This results in development of one region as compared to the other region. Some consequences of this imbalanced development are: Migration, Social unrest, Aggregation of the imbalance etc., regional imbalance is directly adverse effect on Commerce and as well as industry.

This study aims to present a new computational model for assessing how surface longitudinal roughness affects axial flow emerging from a hole. Christensen and Tonder's stochastic averaging model have been employed to develop a mathematical calculation that captures the impact of roughness.
A closed–form solution for axial flow, including different physical parameters has been obtained. Graphical and tabular diagrams suggest that the effect of longitudinal roughness on the performance is higher as compare to the transverse roughness pattern.
Additionally, it is observed that the eccentricity ratio plays a crucial role in improving bearing system.

A global pandemic claiming people’s lives shouldn’t be considered a way of transportation regarding environmental modification. For one factor, it’s aloof from bound however lasting this dip in emissions will be once the pandemic eventually subsides, can carbon and waste emissions “bounce back” most that it'll be as if this clear-skied interlude never happened? Could the changes we tend to see these days have a lot of persistent effects? COVID-19 has heightened awareness of life conservation. As Scientific Yank has cited, the life trade secured further infamy once the agency busted the news of an animal disease infective agent jumping from animals to humans, inflicting the present pandemic. Secondly, once the Yank Veterinary Medical Association proclaimed the positive presence of COVID-19 in livestock, zoos, and Bio-Techniques Journal likewise saw captive animals check positive for the noble coronavirus. The COVID-19 pandemic is considered the most crucial world health disaster of the century, and the greatest challenge Group Two has faced since ordinal warfare. This study delves deeply into Easterine Kire's novel, "When the River Sleeps," focusing on the intricate portrayal of female characters and their profound connection with the natural world. Characters like Ate and Zote, who are shunned by their village due to perceived malevolent abilities, will be examined, shedding light on the unjust treatment they endure. The marginalized widow spirits, unjustly labelled as troublemakers and gossips, will also be analyzed, revealing the societal biases and prejudices that constrain their autonomy. Despite the adversity they face, the female characters in the novel exhibit resilience and inner strength, drawing empowerment, wisdom, and spiritual solace from their interactions with nature. Through their bond with the natural environment, these women find a source of liberation and sustenance, challenging existing power structures and reclaiming agency over their own narratives. The study will explore how nature serves as a transformative force, enabling these women to navigate oppression and cultivate a sense of empowerment and self-discovery.

The present chapter conceptualizes spatial marginalization where gender is one of the dynamic constituents which become the base of ‘Othering’. There are other constituents which could be the base of othering along with gender such as race, caste, class, language or location etc. These constituents are overlapping, for example, gender discrimination leads to spatial segregation which appears natural separation of spaces but it is rather socio-politically constructed. Othering is a continuous process which makes one ‘outsider’, marginalized and not being the participant and locates the person in a disadvantageous position. It is a process as the dominant system enforces the mothering through socialization, hegemonic knowledge system and through various institutions whereas the person or group of people who are at the marginal position struggle continuously to change his/her position of disadvantage by various means of resistance. The victim of gender-spatial othering could be of any gender and not essentially a woman as the position and sociocultural context is the determining factors In the process of marginalization.
